There are many ways to achieve a medieval décor in your home; so many that you may not know where to start. It can be arduous and frustrating task finding all the right pieces just for your home. Here is a sure fire way to get your home noticed for its wonderful medieval décor.
Medieval furniture is an easy way to get that medieval look to your home; look for items that are primarily made of oak; this was a common wood used in those times as it was so durable and available from anywhere.
The most important medieval piece of furniture is the chest. Many years ago it was made from hollowed out tree trunks and then edged in iron for a dramatic effect. The medieval chest could be used for pretty much anything you could think of; making it an essential piece for anyone to own in those times. Some were made to hold peoples possessions and personal property while they traveled from place to place.
It was also used during the buffets in the medieval times as a storage facility for food or cutlery and such like.
Some people used it as seat or a desk or possibly even a table; it was a truly multi functional piece of furniture. You probably wouldn’t use it now as a table or a desk; but it can be used for storage purposes and also looks wonderful in any home. You can bring the medieval décor feel to your home easily with the medieval chest.
Most medieval chest would have some kind of metal edging or covering; that is what makes the medieval décor so outstanding and noticeable; some would even be etched with gold or silver instead of just iron.
Find yourself something really medieval and go for the medieval décor chest; you will not be disappointed.
